BorgWarner - Cross-Business Innovation

Developed organizational approach and processes that enabled Cross-Business synergies which unlocked far greater systems level sales opportunities.

Challenge: How to link BorgWarner’s six autonomous business units through an innovation process and simultaneously create a cross business culture that would fill a new product pipeline and portfolio.

Solution: Launch Institute worked with BorgWarner leadership to implement an innovation process and governance structure.  Focus was first set on Cross-Business Innovation™ including the development of an Innovation Champion role.

To address the cultural conditions, Launch Institute conducted an Employee Value Proposition (EVP) program to identify issues BorgWarner’s engineers (its Strategic Talent Pool) had with conditions for innovation.  Initiatives were aligned to address the issues.
